UVPackmaster 2 is an efficient and full-featured UV packing engine that is also available as a plug-in for 3ds Max. Its robustness comes not only from the fact that it is written in C++ and runs as a multi-threaded application-it also provides packing algorithms for GPUs that support Cuda (which brings significant improvements). In fact, it can perform some packing operations on all devices at the same time: the CPU and all GPUs in the system.
Plugin Features:
UVPackmaster in 3ds Max is implemented as a modifier-in order to pack UV maps, users need to add the UVP modifier to the object modifier stack, select the appropriate packing options (or load options from a preset file), and press the Pack button. The UVP engine will pack the UV map and present the results to the user in a separate window. After the user closes the window, the modifier will remember the packing results in its own structure and apply it to the original UV map every time 3ds Max instructs to modify the object. The user can press the Pack button multiple times, changing the options as needed. Each time the button is pressed, the previous packing result is discarded and the original UV map is packed again with a new set of packing parameters. To permanently apply a packed UV map to an object, the user simply collapses the UVP modifier.
